Open Casting Call for the 2023 “Spirits of The Furnace”
We are seeking performers for the performances of “Spirits of the Furnace” on the evening of October 21st, 2023. This is an interactive spooky night tour of the Catoctin Furnace historic village area.
AUDITION to be part of the 2023 cast!
Email info@catoctinfurnace.org with the subject line: 2023 SPIRITS – Your Name, specify which role you are auditioning for in your email. You may audition for more than one role. Select a portion of 2 monologues of your choice (2 minutes tops, one dramatic and one comedic). If singing, a short portion of a song. All video auditions are due by Monday, September 11th. Major speaking role
– Any gender, POC actor, 18+
– Public speaking and acting experience is a must as this is a heavy speaking role with a range of emotions.
German Moravian Minister (19th century)
Major speaking role
– Male, 30+
– Familiarity in German or Pennsylvania Dutch is preferred
Furnace Worker (19th century)
Medium speaking role
– Male, POC actor, 18+
Furnace Workers (19th century)
Minor speaking role
– Male, 18+
Extras/Villagers (19th century)
Minor roles
– Any gender, 16+ (minors must have a guardian present during the performances)
– Practical effects, small talking bits, singers for choir scene
