Historic Basket Making Workshop




Our January workshop filled up quickly, so we are offering a second class in March.

We will be making a unique garden basket in front of the cozy fireplace in our ca. 1810 log cabin. This basket was designed for use in the historic kitchen garden at Catoctin Furnace.

The basket is 18 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 14 inches high.

Cost is $55 per person. All proceeds benefit the Catoctin Furnace Historical Society, Inc.

Limited to 15 people. Please bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.

Student should bring: a water bucket, pocket knife, sharpened pencil, old towel, brick (wrapped in saran wrap) or heavy item to weigh down spokes, 10 clip clothes pins, a spray bottle for water, measuring tape . . . a cloth one is preferable as metal will rust. Please wear comfortable clothes that can get wet and dirty.
